Five Leach's and a lone Avocet

Ex-hurricane gales lured me to the Solway after work on 17th and my timing couldn't have been better: within minutes no less than 5 Leach's Petrels appeared battling their way back out of the estuary - a patch first for me. Four days later the westerlies had changed to southerlies and the Leach's had gone; instead I relocated one of four Avocets, a real rarity up here.
