Gull-billed Terns prove hard to get

Having dragged the family out for what I thought might be a nice drive and an easy lifer, I was confronted by streams of slow-moving traffic, road works and poor directions. A third attempt to locate the gravel pits in question proved successful as we spotted the body of water almost by chance; moments later I was watching my first Gull-billed Tern - two in fact - and we all had good views through the telescope.
