Nothing spectacular around in the first two weeks of February but frosty conditions drew me back to my hide and there were some nice surprises, namely regular Long-tailed Tits, a posing Coal Tit or two and a beautiful Yellowhammer. Jack Snipe and Woodcock were seen quite regularly on the local marshes but were just flushed and not seen on the deck. A confiding Buzzard posed nicely close to home. Best bird was a Peregrine on the marsh which stayed put as I approach it in the car.
