Hooded Merganser in Cumbria

Well, I suspect the jury might be out on this potential escapee... But today, 22nd April 2023, I couldn't resist nipping down to see this beauty in the south of the county (Whinfell Tarn, NE of Kendal). The weather wasn't great, but at least the wind had dropped, which allowed me to take some nice images from low down, close to the shoreline.
