Ring-necked females at local pond

Longtown pond has been good for rare or uncommon ducks in the past and the report of Ring-necked Duck came as no surprise. But there was no male this time - instead two females had been reported and I was keen to add these to my photographic collection. The light was poor and initially the birds were hardly discernible as silhouettes, but I used my nous to get better shots and also made the most of my 2x converter.
