The target bird (White-winged Scoter) at Musselburgh wasn't playing ball today; neither were the Shore Lark or Snow Bunting at Aberlady Bay. Still, I caught up with the Surf Scoter (even this was annoying distant), Velvet Scoters, Common Scoter, Slavonian Grebe (4+), Razorbill and Guillemot at the former site and enjoyed taking shots of the confiding Sanderlings at the latter. A return visit later in the day to Musselburgh also enabled me to find a Red-throated Diver (one of at least 3) milling about close to the harbour wall and I got some really pleasing shots of this one.
