Having left the feeder for a week, I returned to find the local tits enjoying an easy meal (24th) - including Willow Tit, at last. I heard this species at least 5 times in the course of the 5-hour stint here (at a local woodland), but it only came a couple of times to the feeder and then only briefly. I got a few photos (and of other tit species), and after all this drove to the local patch and found Curlew Sandpiper (juvenile) but no photo this time. I returned on 25th and got better shots of most species including Willow Tit, whilst at the local estuary the Curlew Sandpiper count had risen to 4 and I managed a photo, albeit it poor light.
